Walt and Edna Wenzel

Walt and Edna lived next door to Milton and Theo Ferguson from 1950 to 1958. They became an extra set of grandparents to Linda and Chris. They were Godparents to Linda and Chris and dearly loved by them. Edna had a rigid housekeeping routine but when she had time she would go fishing on her own while Walt was at work and often came home with large fish.  Walt liked to fish too.  He  had a worm farm in his garage and sometimes Chris and Linda would go out at dark and help him catch nightcrawlers which were big fat earthworms that came out at night after a rain or if he watered the grass during the day.  They would have “parties” in which everyone would roast hot dogs in their fire place and watch Lawrence Welk and pretend to be playing instruments in the band.

Mrs Enda Regina Wenzel, 68 of Longview died July 27,1970 in a local hospital. She was born August 19, 1901 in Seymour, Wisconsin and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.
