Russell Eggert

Russell Lynn Eggert, 83 of Falls City died January 19 at his home if an apparent heart attack. He was born in South Aurora Nebraska on August 31, 1891. He came to Oregon from Ukiah, CA to the Falls City area and had lived in the Falls City area for many years. He married his 1st wife Mary and they had four children. She died when she was 50. He was a charter member of the Falls City Odd Fellows lodge 53 years ago. He was also a member of the Methodist Church in Falls City. He retired from farming and sawmill work several years ago. He married Shirley after her first husband died. They had a lot in common, Together they were involved  in  a lot of local activities.   They always had a very beautiful garden, and lots of friends around.   Surviving are his wife Shirley of Falls City; sons Charles Eggert of CA, and Raymond Eggert of Dallas, OR; daughter Viva Berry of Seattle and Harrriet Hunington of Santiam Pass; step-children Theo Ferguson of Cathlamet and Betty Williams of New Castle. 15 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren; 11 step grandchildren, 23 step great grandchildren and one step great great grandchild.
